Giants vs. 49ers Predictions: Big Blue Won't Be Affected by Trip to Candlestick

Wes ODonnellJun 7, 2018

There are no two teams better-suited to go on the road in the playoffs than the two road teams this weekend.

The Baltimore Ravens are infinitely better when they consistently use running back Ray Rice and their defense is capable of stopping anyone — even Tom Brady.

The New York Giants have already proven they don't care where they play. In 2007, they went on the road for all three games and then beat the undefeated Patriots in the Super Bowl.

Whether it be an outdoor grass field, a dome turf field or the parking lot out back, the Giants will come to play football.

This weekend at Candlestick will be tough, but New York already made this trip once this year. The 27-20 loss was painful, but it was a learning experience for this team that has made them better.

The Giants have an unflappable quarterback and never-say-die coach. The've developed a sense of urgency and confidence that was absent for most of the regular season.

They've taken all the losses, miscommunication and disappointment and turned it into something that words cannot describe.

Forget about crowd noise, cross-country trips and the time difference.

Plain and simple, this is going to be a football game. The two teams are going to come out like rabid wolverines and they're going to want to take each others' heads off.

The Giants, the "road" team, aren't going to be thinking about what color is in the stands and what patch of grass they're on.

All the New York Giants will think about is the game at hand because home-field advantage simply doesn't exist to them.

This is going to be one hell of a football game, but its outcome will have nothing to do with it being played at Candlestick Park.

Chuckin' the rock on Twitter too.
