Australian Open 2012 Draw: Projecting Best Possible Draw for Fans
When all is said and done, I want to see Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal battling it out to be king of the Australian Open.
Nothing else will satisfy my thirst for awesome, breathtaking tennis, nor should anything else.
The thing about the draws is that until they actually happen, you never really know who is going to end up where.
It's the luck of the draw as they say, and that's what makes it so intriguing.
I don't care if it's in the first round or the finals, these following matchups are bound to be the best for fan-entertainment value:
Novak Djokovic vs. Rafael Nadal
I shouldn't have to explain myself on this one, being that this matchup pins the world's current No. 1 and No. 2.
This is easily becoming tennis's greatest matchup, and I hope to see them in the finals.
Nadal was king of the sport for a while, replacing Roger Federer, but he's been upstaged by the upstart Djokovic who had a terrific 2011 with three Grand Slam titles, five Masters and a 70-6 record.
We saw them match up in finals at both Wimbledon and the US Open, but Nadal hasn't been able to get over the hump, as he's riding a streak of six straight tournament finals losses to Djokovic.
Will Djokovic continue his dominance, or will Nadal finally get back on top in 2012?
How can you not want to see this matchup?
It's the pride of England against the pride of American tennis, in what would surely be a very patriotic matchup.
Roddick's window for winning big is nearing its close, but he's got good experience at Melbourne and still possesses enough talent to consider himself a dark-horse contender.
Murray on the other-hand has to be one of the favorites coming into this match. even though he's never won a Grand Slam.
This would be the battle of two very lovable figures in the sport who just seem to come up short.
Roger Federer vs. Jo-Wilfried Tsonga
This matchup would pin one of the greatest ever with a player that possesses all the qualities and flair to be great.
Federer's career speaks for itself, and despite speculation about him falling off, he's still one of the best in the world.
Tsonga is an up-and-comer with a powerful serve and a thirst for big wins.
He defeated Federer in a thrilling match at last year's Wimbledon, so this would be a rematch of epic proportions.
It would be skill and grace against power and determination, which really gives the tennis fans everything they need in one single match.
