NBA Slam Dunk Contest: 5 Ballers We Want to See Most
There is a difference between game dunkers and contest dunkers. Unfortunately, it’s hard to tell the difference between the two—until the dunk contest starts.
Clyde Drexler was a perfect example. He could throw down some of the most spectacular in-game dunks but seemed to lack the creativity and flair to succeed in the NBA Slam Dunk Contest.
That was the good old days of the Dunk Contest, when the premier player/athletes still participated. Now, the best players treat the Dunk Contest like established comedians treat stand-up routines. It’s something they did before they were big-time.
It’s understandable to a certain degree. They are risking injury (or embarrassment) by participating, but it would sure be a prize to see some of the league's best athletes participate, regardless of stature.
Check out the five players I’d love to see in the Dunk Contest this year.
