Anthony Edwards 'Buying Front Row Tickets' to Lakers vs. Mavs After Luka Dončić Trade
NBA fans aren't the only ones excited to see Luka Dončić's return to face the Dallas Mavericks after his former team traded him to the Los Angeles Lakers.
The players are as well.
"I'm excited to see for the first time the Lakers play Dallas in Dallas," Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards said on his Instagram page. "I'm super excited to see that, oh my god. It's in a few weeks? If we're not playing, I'm buying front row tickets to that b---h."
The Lakers are scheduled to visit Dallas on April 9, although they host Anthony Davis' new squad on Feb. 25.
If Edwards is serious about attending the game in Dallas, he is in luck.
Minnesota is off on April 9, although it would be quite the trip with the Timberwolves scheduled to face the Milwaukee Bucks on the road on April 8 and the Memphis Grizzlies on the road on April 10.
He won't be the only one paying attention when Dončić returns to Dallas.
The fans will surely embrace the five-time All-NBA selection seeing how he was a franchise icon who thrived during his time with the Mavericks. Some of them were so upset Dallas traded him that they protested outside the stadium and chanted, "sell the team."
Those matchups will also give Davis a chance to go against his former team in the Lakers, and he will likely have plenty of success if the Purple and Gold don't make another move before Thursday's trade deadline.
After all, the frontcourt is now a major question mark following Davis' departure, and he remains one of the best bigs in the league who should be able to take advantage of that.
It will certainly be appointment viewing, but the real treat for NBA fans and Edwards alike would be if they faced each other in the Western Conference playoffs.
