Davante Adams, Garrett Wilson, Aaron Rodgers' Updated Jets Fantasy Stock After Trade
After weeks of rumors and speculation, superstar wide receiver Davante Adams is reportedly on the move as the centerpiece of a blockbuster trade.
According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the Las Vegas Raiders agreed Tuesday to send Adams to the New York Jets in exchange for a conditional third-round pick that can become a second-rounder based on Adams' performance.
The trade was reportedly consummated just hours after the Jets dropped a crucial AFC East game to the Buffalo Bills on Monday night, falling 23-20 at home.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Acquiring Adams means quarterback Aaron Rodgers now has another big-time weapon at his disposal. Here is a closer look at what it could mean for the fantasy football prospects of some of New York's top stars.
Davante Adams
Adams has missed the Raiders' past three games due to a hamstring injury, but before that, he had recorded 18 receptions for 209 yards and one touchdown through three games.
Entering the 2024 campaign, Adams had four consecutive seasons with at least 100 catches, 1,000 yards and eight touchdowns. He split that time between the Raiders and Green Bay Packers.
Over his final two seasons in Green Bay, Adams scored a career-high 18 touchdowns in 2020 and set career highs with 123 catches for 1,553 yards in 2021, helping Rodgers win back-to-back NFL MVP awards.
Adams was traded to Vegas prior to the 2022 campaign, where he reunited with his collegiate teammate, quarterback Derek Carr. They showed they still had plenty of chemistry, as Adams finished with 100 catches for 1,516 yards and a league-high 14 scores.
The Raiders released Carr after the season, replacing him with veteran Jimmy Garoppolo, but Jimmy G didn't last long as the starter before he was replaced by then-rookie fourth-round pick Aidan O'Connell.
The turnover at quarterback clearly impacted Adams' production last season, but he still finished with 103 catches for 1,144 yards and eight touchdowns.
Las Vegas signed veteran Gardner Minshew during the offseason and named him the starter over O'Connell, but he and Adams clearly didn't have the same type of connection that Adams had with Rodgers and Carr previously.
Adams will have more familiar surroundings in New York with Rodgers throwing him the ball. That figures to result in more production compared to what he did during the first three games of the season with Vegas.
Unlike with the Raiders, Adams won't necessarily be the unquestioned No. 1 option in the passing game in New York due to the presence of Garrett Wilson. But thanks to his experience playing alongside Rodgers, he still figures to receive a ton of targets.
Also, a huge uptick in quarterback play from Minshew to Rodgers should help mitigate any potential drop-off in targets if there is one.
Adams was a somewhat borderline WR1 in fantasy football entering the season, but he should be a very strong WR2 in New York with plenty of potential to be a WR1 depending on the distribution of targets.
Garrett Wilson
Rodgers has seemingly only had trust in two wideouts this season. Wilson is at the top of the list, as he leads the team with 41 receptions and 399 receiving yards and has caught three touchdowns.
He has been especially good the past two weeks after a slow start during the first month. He had 13 catches for 103 yards and a score against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 5 and eight receptions for 107 yards and a touchdown in Week 6 against the Bills.
Wilson has a combined 33 targets over the past two weeks. While that almost certainly won't be sustainable with Adams in the fold, his efficiency should have a good chance of improving now that Adams will command some extra defensive attention.
So far this season, Wilson has clearly been the primary Jets receiver whom teams have game-planned for. That's a big reason why he has had to largely settle for underneath passes and is averaging just 9.7 yards per catch.
Allen Lazard, who was Rodgers' teammate in Green Bay along with Adams, has feasted down the field as a result, registering 26 catches for 354 yards and a league-leading five touchdown catches.
While Rodgers clearly has a great deal of belief in Lazard, he seems likely to take a much bigger fantasy hit than Wilson with the arrival of Adams since Adams typically does much of his damage on downfield throws as well.
Wilson can continue to be Rodgers' primary option on shorter throws, but with Adams oftentimes drawing double coverage and taking multiple defensive backs with him down the field, there should be more room for Wilson to operate.
That means Wilson's overall production may be go down a bit in point-per-reception leagues especially, but his yardage and touchdown numbers should remain steady even with fewer targets and catches.
Wilson remains a strong WR2 and borderline WR1 in fantasy even with Adams in the fold, while Lazard drops down to a FLEX option at best. No. 4 wide receiver Mike Williams will be unplayable.
Aaron Rodgers
Rodgers is a four-time NFL MVP and future first-ballot Hall of Famer, but he wasn't viewed as much more than a QB2 in fantasy entering the season since he is 40 years old and coming off a torn Achilles.
Not surprisingly, his results have been mixed for far. He is completing 61.8 percent of his passes for 1,387 yards, nine touchdowns and five interceptions, including three picks in a Week 5 loss to Minnesota.
Rodgers alternates between looking like his old self and looking like a quarterback whose best days are behind him. But with Adams joining an offense that already included Wilson, Lazard and two talented running backs in Breece Hall and Braelon Allen, Rodgers is worth a roster spot in standard leagues at the very least.
Against a Buffalo team with plenty of defensive talent, Rodgers largely played an excellent game in Week 6. He went 23-of-35 for 294 yards with two touchdowns, including a picture-perfect Hail Mary to Lazard for a touchdown at the end of the first half.
Rodgers' one major miscue was an interception thrown to Bills cornerback Taron Johnson on what proved to be New York's final offensive play of the game, but that play was seemingly more on Williams, who slipped and fell on his route.
The veteran signal-caller was under siege at times, though, getting sacked three times. He has been sacked a total of 11 times over the past three weeks, calling the quality of his offensive line into question.
Rodgers also doesn't have much mobility left in his legs, so he could struggle to produce against top defenses even with an elite wide receiver tandem.
While Rodgers is far from a slam-dunk weekly starter in standard fantasy leagues, he should be started in leagues that start two quarterbacks, and he is worth consideration in standard leagues based on matchups.
In Week 7, the Jets go on the road to face a Pittsburgh Steelers team that is eighth in the league in total defense and second in scoring defense, and is led by arguably the NFL's top pass-rusher in T.J. Watt.
As a result, even if Adams plays in Week 7, it may be best for Rodgers to be left on fantasy benches until he gets a better matchup.
