NFL Rumors: Colts' Anthony Richardson 'Has a Shot' to Play vs. Jaguars amid Injury
Indianapolis Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson might be back on the field next week against the Jacksonville Jaguars despite suffering multiple injuries, according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.
The quarterback is reportedly considered day-to-day with oblique and abdominal strains and "he has a shot to play this week," per Pelissero.
Richardson exited Sunday's game against the Pittsburgh Steelers with what was called a hip injury, although NFL Network's Cameron Wolfe reported this could be a short-term injury:

Wolfe had previously reported that "the hope" was that Richardson misses "very little or no game action." Wolfe also noted that the signal-caller was in "good spirits" after the contest.
Richardson left the game in the first quarter after taking multiple hits from the Steelers' defense, walking to the locker room with trainers. He was initially listed as questionable to return before he was later ruled out.
The 22-year-old was replaced by veteran Joe Flacco under center.
Richardson finished 3-of-4 for 71 yards before he left the contest, adding another 24 rush yards on three attempts.
The signal-caller's career has been marred by injuries since he was selected with the No. 4 overall pick in the 2023 NFL draft. After missing a Week 3 matchup due to a concussion, his rookie campaign came to an end after suffering a shoulder injury that required season-ending surgery in Week 5.
Richardson is in the midst of an up-and-down 2024 campaign, as he completed just 49.3 percent of his throws and tossed a league-leading six interceptions entering Sunday's action. Still, the former Florida standout only has seven games under his belt and has shown flashes of the arm strength that made him a top draft pick.
He's also been able to rack up 141 total rushing yards and a touchdown on 11 attempts this season.
Flacco will be expected to operate under center if Richardson is still out in Week 5. The 39-year-old started five games with the Cleveland Browns in 2023, finishing with a 4-1 record.
