Michael Silver of Bally Sports reported Monday that Henry's name came up in trade talks during the NFL scouting combine. Henry joins DeAndre Hopkins and Jalen Ramsey among the future Hall of Famers whose names have been bandied about in talks.

A three-time Pro Bowler, Henry led the NFL in rushing in 2019 and 2020. He finished second in 2022 with 1,538 yards and carried the ball a league-high 349 times. The Titans have consistently used Henry as a between-the-tackles battering ram, focusing their offense on ball control and the Alabama product's ability to keep the chains moving.

That said, there's a clear toll to the workload. Henry missed nine games in 2021 with a foot injury. At the time, he was on pace to blast the NFL record for rushing attempts in the season (416, set by Larry Johnson in 2006).

While Henry stayed mostly healthy last season, his yards per carry (4.4) were well below his career mark (4.8) and lagged behind his 2019-20 peak (5.2). He also recently turned 29, which is historically around the time NFL running backs—even all-time greats—start showing signs of significant regression.

The Titans owe Henry $10.5 million in 2023, the final year of his contract. Their reported willingness to trade him seemingly indicates a lack of desire to ink him to a long-term contract extension.
