NBA Trade Rumors: 76ers' Matisse Thybulle Eyed by Hawks amid Kings, Warriors Buzz
The Atlanta Hawks are in the mix for Philadelphia 76ers guard Matisse Thybulle, per longtime NBA reporter Marc Stein.
"Sources say that Atlanta has joined Sacramento as a confirmed suitor for Philadelphia's Matisse Thybulle," Stein wrote. "I don't know that the Hawks will be the ultimate landing spot, but I've been advised that the prospect of Thybulle getting traded before Thursday's buzzer is very real."
The Golden State Warriors are also monitoring Thybulle's availability, per Keith Pompey of the Philadelphia Inquirer.
Last year, Thybulle started 50 of his 66 games and averaged 5.7 points per game on 50.0 percent shooting with 2.3 rebounds, 1.7 steals and 1.1 blocks in 25.5 minutes.
This year, Thybulle's playing time has been cut in half. The former University of Washington star is averaging 2.7 points on 43.8 percent shooting with 1.2 rebounds, 0.9 steals and 0.3 blocks in 12.1 minutes.
His diminished role doesn't foreshadow a long-term future with Philadelphia, and a change of scenery is probably best.
Known more for his defensive prowess, the two-time All-Defensive second-team member could certainly be an asset for the Hawks, Kings or Warriors, all of whom are fighting for playoff positioning while sitting in the bottom half of the league in defensive efficiency, per NBA.com.
The 6'5" guard, who has played the first four years of his career with the 76ers, appears to be a strong candidate to head elsewhere by Thursday's 3 p.m. ET trade deadline.
