WWE Rumors: Brock Lesnar to Fight Bobby Lashley at WrestleMania Despite Gunther Tease
Despite a tease between Brock Lesnar and Gunther in Saturday's Royal Rumble, the former UFC star could instead face Bobby Lashley at WrestleMania 39.
Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio provided a breakdown of the plans for WWE (via Subhojeet Mukherjee of Ringside News):
"Lesnar and Lashley is the one they're pushing hard. Yeah, he could do one for each show, but it certainly felt like the Lashley one is the one they're building up. The Gunther one felt like a tease, they felt like something for someday we got this in our pocket, the Lashley one felt like 'this is a WrestleMania.'"

Was Brock's Ending a Sendoff or a Setup?
Gunther and Lesnar appeared ready for a showdown after going face-to-face during the Rumble:
Lesnar appeared on his way to a third Royal Rumble title with his strong start, eliminating three competitors in his first couple of minutes. Lashley had other plans, entering after Lesnar and knocking him out of the ring almost immediately.
The superstar did not hide his frustration after being eliminated:
Lashley defeated Lesnar for the WWE Championship at Royal Rumble last year, but the Beast got his revenge at Crown Jewel. The two have had other incidents since, including at RAW is XXX last week when Lesnar cost Lashley the United States Championship.
It seems the feud is far from over, as the two are heading toward a battle at the next WrestleMania.
