Warriors' Stephen Curry Fined $25K for Throwing Mouth Guard into Stands vs. Grizzlies
The NBA has fined Golden State Warriors point guard Stephen Curry $25,000 for throwing his mouthpiece in the stands during the fourth quarter of his team's 122-120 home win over the Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday.
He was ejected by rule:
Curry didn't maliciously throw his mouthpiece into the stands, and it clearly bounced on the floor as opposed to flying right into the seats.
The throw was done in reaction to a shot choice from Jordan Poole, who heaved up a missed three-pointer with 12 seconds left on the shot clock while Curry waited wide open from beyond the arc.
Ultimately, Curry's ejection didn't hurt the Warriors, who won on a game-winning shot from Poole with under three seconds left. They'll look to move over .500 at home against the Toronto Raptors on Friday.
