Alex Windley

Alex Windley is a World Football writer with nine years of soccer journalism experience. For Bleacher Report, she's covered the U.S. Men's and Women's National Teams at major tournaments like the 2022 and 2026 Men’s World Cups, the 2023 Women's World Cup, and the 2024 Summer Olympics. She’s also written about Inter Miami’s overnight rise in Major League Soccer and many major European football clubs, all while putting those performances into context through tactical analysis and breakdowns, helping B/R Football fans to appreciate, and maybe learn something new, about the beautiful game. Whether she’s breaking down Lionel Messi’s influence and success in MLS or explaining a cool tactical tweak from the U.S. Men’s or Women’s National teams, Alex believes that football can indeed be made simple. Away from the sport, Alex enjoys building Lego sets and watching classic Disney films, using them as motivation to improve her graphic design skills. But if there’s a soccer game on somewhere, chances are she’s taking notes.
