NFL Week 2 Live Fantasy Football Start 'Em Sit 'Em Lineup Advice and Latest Injury Updates

Well, that didn't take long.

We're all of one week into the 2026 NFL season, and already the fantasy landscape is shifting rapidly under our feet. We already know that a pair of big-name receivers (Zay Flowers of the Baltimore Ravens and Nico Collins of the Houston Texans) will miss Week 2 due to injuries. Several other prominent pass-catchers are questionable, leaving many fantasy managers in scramble mode well before Sunday's slate even kicks off.

If you're one of those managers patching a hole in your lineup or concerned that you will need to before the games get underway, fear not. Here at Bleacher Report we have you covered, with updated injury news, fantasy insights and player recommendations for Week 2.

Everything is going to be OK.

Or at least that's what I keep telling myself.

Prominent Week 2 Inactives

  • WR Zay Flowers, Baltimore Ravens (hamstring)
  • WR Nico Collins, Houston Texans (hamstring)
  • WR Michael Pittman, Pittsburgh Steelers (foot)

So You're Saying There's a Chance?

The weather in Chicago is an issue--one that adds significant risk to starting Jordan Addison this week.

But Jauan Jennings (personal) is out in Week 2, and the Chicago Bears just allowed a huge game to Carolina's No. 2 wideout (Jalen Coker) a week ago.

With so many wideouts sidelined, Addison's ceiling is tempting.

Just know going in that the floor is low. This is a risk/reward call all the way.

Safe and Sound

This analyst did not avoid him. In fact, my opponent also had Bills tight end Dalton Kincaid.

Sigh.

Footing the Bill

Commanders Eagles Football

For all the changes the Dallas Cowboys made on defense in the offseason, the team looked just as putrid on that side of the ball in Week 1 as they were in 2025. Dallas allowed 394 yards of offense and could not get the New York Giants off the field.

The Commanders have defensive issues of their own--Washington is going to want to control tempo and keep the Dallas offense off the field.

Combine those factors, and you have the potential for RB2 numbers for Commanders running back Jacory Croskey-Merritt.

His friends call him "Bill."

Puka No-Cua

At this point, it doesn't appear especially likely that Puka Nacua (hip/groin) will be a go for the Rams Monday night.

If you have a bench wideout who can reasonably be expected to post 10-12 PPR points Sunday, the smart play is to go ahead and roll them out.

Then Nacua will play and have 250 receiving yards and three scores, because fantasy football.

(Seriously, it's Plan B time--unfortunately)

Mr. Jones and Me

Packers Vikings Football

Minnesota Vikings running back Jordan Mason landed on injured reserve this week with a thumb injury. The weather in Chicago is conducive toย  run-heavy gameplan. The Bears allowed a whopping 478 yards of offense a week ago.

Who's up for an Aaron Jones day?

Life Comes at You fast

Last Week, Kendre Miller received nine carries and found the end zone. He was scooped up off a number of waiver wires this week.

With Alvin Kamara back for the Saints in Week 2, Miller is a healthy scratch.

The fantasy gods giveth, and the fantasy gods taketh away.

Sit Caleb Williams?

Bears Panthers Football

Benching the highest-scoring fantasy quarterback from a Week ago may sound like lunacy. And to be clear, many fantasy managers don't have the kind of backup option available to make sitting Caleb Williams of the Bears feasible.

But the gnarly weather in Chicago is enough to knock Williams below players like Dak Prescott of the Cowboys and Trevor Lawrence of the Jaguars.

Fantasy managers who do start Williams need to do so with lowered expectationsโ€”he's not putting up 35-plus fantasy points in the slop in Week 2.

No Surprises

Well, at least we didn't get any surprise inactives.

Of course, that's because of the depressingly long list of players we already knew were out.

Fantasy football is loads of fun--except when it isn't.

OL Shuffle for the Eagles

After losing guard Landon Dickerson to a knee injury, the Philadelphia Eagles are shuffling the offensive lineโ€”Cam Jurgens will move from center to guard, while second-year pro Drew Kendall will take over in the middle of the offensive line.

Saquon Barkley is a locked-in RB1 against the Tennessee Titans in what's supposed to be a scorching day in Nashville. But the fantasy impact of this shuffle could be amplified in Week 3, when the Eagles begin a four-game stretch of matchups with playoff teams from a year ago.

Send in the Browns

Browns Jaguars Football

Last week against the Jacksonville Jaguars, Cleveland Browns tight end Harold Fannin Jr. was targeted just three times, catching two passes for 21 yards.

Browns running back Quinshon Judkins has gained 102 yards on the ground over his last four starts combined.

The Cleveland offense is a dumpster fire. Bench every Browns player you canโ€”period.

Raining on Our Parade

The rain in New England, Chicago and New York isn't ideal for fantasy managers. But it's not the end of the world.

It's the 20 MPH winds In Chicago that could gum up the passing game--and result in a reduction in fantasy production.

Vele All Day

Saints Lions Football

Last week, New Orleans Saints wide receiver Devaughn Vele caught seven of nine targets for 69 yards and a touchdown on the way to a top-10 fantasy finish.

Asking for WR1 numbers may be pushing it, but with Chris Olave nursing a sore hamstring and the Saints likely to be playing from behind Sunday in Baltimore, WR2 production from Vele isn't an unreasonable expectation.

He's Not Wrong

Of all the pass-catchers in Houston, Schultz is the best fantasy "flex" play against the Bengals. Wide receivers like Xavier Hutchinson and Kayshon Boutte are massive question marks, and Schultz is the best bet of the lot to see double-digit targets in Week 2.

Hail to the King

Ravens Colts Football

The Baltimore Ravens don't have Zay Flowers or Ja'Kobi Lane Sunday against the New Orleans Saints.

Last week, the Saints allowed 165 rushing yards against the Detroit Lions.

If Derrick Henry is on your fantasy team, it's going to be a good week.

If he's on your opponent's team?

We're on to Week 3.

Burrow Good to Go

The good news for fantasy managers with shares of Cincinnati Bengals skill-position players like Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins is that Joe Burrow (back) is expected to play Sunday in Houston.

The bad news is that it's Week 2 and a quarterback with a lengthy injury history is already banged up heading into a matchup with arguably the NFL's best duo of edge-rushers.

DK is Just OK

Falcons Steelers Football

On paper. Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver DK Metcalf appears primed for a rebound after a down Week 1โ€”the Steelers are without Michael Pittman against the Patriots, and New England has some injuries on the back end of the defense.

But the Pittsburgh passing attack isn't exactly prolific, and this is another of the Week 2 contests that is expected to be played in a steady rain.

Metcalf is a "start," but not as anything more than a low-end Fantasy WR2.

Moore Injured Wide Receivers

After a great debut with the Buffalo Bills in Week 1, D.J. Moore posted the dreaded goose-egg in Week 2 after suffering a shoulder injury Thursday night against the Detroit Lions.

Moore will have a few extra days to get ready for next week's home tilt with the Los Angeles Chargers, but his practice participation will need to be monitored next week.

Darn Tuten

Browns Jaguars Football

Per Bob Harris of Footballguys, Bhayshul Tuten of the Jacksonville Jaguars gained 98.7% of his rushing yards after contact and forced 9 missed tackles in Week 1.

Meanwhile, Denver missed 28 tackles in Week 1. The Chiefs turned those misses into 248 additional yards.

The Broncos should be better defensively Sunday. But Tuten is firmly on the RB2 radar in Week 2.

Wither the Weather

It looks like we may have found a way to slow down Chicago's high-flying offense.

Given the offensive fireworks we saw in Carolina last week, Chicago pass catchers like wide receiver Luther Burden III and tight end Colston Loveland have to be in starting lineups. So does Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson, because he's, you know, Justin Jefferson.

But borderline flex plays like Vikings wideout Jordan Addison and Bears receiver Khalif Raymond are riskier bets.

Ladd McConkey Update

Los Angeles Chargers wideout Ladd McConkey is questionable for Week 2 with a cracked rib suffered in the team's Week 1 loss to the Arizona Cardinals.

McConkey is expected to give it a go, but with the Chargers and Raiders not kicking off until 4:05 PM, fantasy managers need a late-afternoon fill-in at the ready if McConkey is scratched.

Are there any wide receivers who aren't hurt?

Some Good News

Coming off a whopping 10 catches for 182 yards against the Detroit Lions, Chris Olave is questionable for Week 2 with a hamstring injury.

There's always a risk of re-aggravating such an injury. But if Olave is active as expected, he needs to be in fantasy lineups.

The Hard Choices

I face a few decisions like this myself this week. Sadly.

Marks is the floor play here after seeing 10 touches last week. Boutte's role in his second game with the Texans is less certain, but with A.J. Brown on injured reserve he should see a bump in snaps and target share.

Boutte is the play, although he's admittedly a risky one.

Desperation Doubs

Colts Patriots Football

With so many wide receivers banged up, fantasy managers are looking at teams like the Baltimore Ravens, Houston Texans and New England Patriots in the hopes that one of their reserve wideouts might step up in Week 2.

Romeo Doubs of the Patriots is an OK desperation playโ€”he should rebound from last week's goose-egg Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers. But there isn't a wide receiver in Houston or Baltimore who is more than a dart-throw.

In fact, the big winners in terms of targets for those two teams are likely veteran tight ends Dalton Schultz and Mark Andrews.

Don't Rush to Start Falcons Pass-Catchers

The last thing fantasy managers of Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Drake London and tight end Kyle Pitts want to have to seriously consider is sitting those players in Week 2--especially with all the injuries at wide receiver.

But the Falcons were the only team in the NFL that didn't reach the red zone last week. Not once. And with Cooper Rush making another start for Atlanta, the fantasy upside has been drained from every Falcon not named Bijan Robinson.

Puka Nacua Iffy for MNF

Well isn't that special?

With Puka Nacua missing practice Friday and Saturday and not playing until Monday night, fantasy managers are in quite the bind. If active, Nacua is a must-start. But those same fantasy managers risk a goose-egg if Nacua sits and they don't have a backup plan at the ready.

Darnell Mooney of the Giants is one fallback option who should be available in most leagues. But after logging just two receptions for 27 yards in the opener, Mooney isn't an especially appealing Plan B.

R.J. Harvey Unlikely to Play

It's not just wide receivers who have been hit by injuries. After a pedestrian opener, R.J. Harvey is unlikely to play Sunday afternoon against the Jaguars.

Harvey's game is a 4:05 PM start, so either have a late-game replacement at the ready or get Harvey out of lineups now.

Rookie Jonah Coleman will see more work with Harvey potentially sidelined.
