NFL Pro Bowl Roster 2012: Which QBs Will Actually Make Trip to Hawaii?

The NFL's version of an All-Star game has its share of issues. The physical nature of the sport makes many players avoid it, or they are physically unable to perform because of a previously sustained injury.

Add into that the geniuses that decided to make it the week before the Super Bowl effectively eliminating any chance of several players even taking the field. 

Now what should be a showcase of the best players in the NFL turns out to be a defense-less contest of whoever is left.

Here are some of the players you can expect to see in this year's Pro Bowl. They will either be healthy or otherwise unoccupied due to missing the playoffs or already having been eliminated.

Philip Rivers and the Chargers are not going to the playoffs. Tom Brady figures to still be playing, or too peeved off to show up for Hawaii. Rivers should edge out Ryan Fitzpatrick because of player votes. Since Tom Brady usually skips it anyway, Tim Tebow will likely be on the roster in a down year for AFC signal callers.

Mike Vick is still in operation. Please the fans. This would be a another nice gesture for him. The Eagles won't be in the postseason, and Vick's presence is still worth as much as anyone in the NFL as far as fans are concerned. You figure Aaron Rodgers may be busy, or angry (which is my prediction), Tony Romo will be hurt, angry or both, Matt Ryan will make the trip, Drew Brees will be busy and Cam Newton will be there.

Vick, Newton and Ryan will be worth the price of admission alone for many. Expect to see Cam Newton start for the NFC and Philip Rivers for the AFC after all the declined invitations.

It isn't too bad under center; the NFL lucked out in this case with the Eagles underachieving and Cam Newton exploding on the scene. Their inclusion may be enough to get me to watch the game for the first time in over five years.
