WWE News: Storyline Between Zack Ryder and Eve Reportedly Will Continue on TV

Zack Ryder has worked his tail off to get to his current spot in the WWE as the United States Champion.

He has earned everything he’s gotten out of the WWE this year, but I’d be lying if I said some very good booking didn’t help him out. The fact that he was paired with John Cena on TV and that he was placed in a great feud with Dolph Ziggler certainly made his rise to the top of the WWE a little easier.

That’s OK, though. That’s what the creative team is supposed to do: Book WWE stars in a storyline that will get them over.

It worked incredibly for Ryder in 2011, but maybe I praised the creative team too much because it looks like they’re going to be placing him in a storyline I’m not exactly thrilled about.

These pairings between superstars and Divas almost never actually work.

Remember when Daniel Bryan and Gail Kim were “dating”? Yeah, that really took Bryan to the next level.

How about what the Bella twins are currently doing for Alberto Del Rio? Their phenomenal acting skills are really helping ADR get over, huh.

Or, hey, what about what Maria did for Dolph Ziggler a few years ago? Man, I don’t know where he would be without her.

I hope you sensed the sarcasm there.

Truth is that, outside of giving a young heel Vickie Guerrero as his manager, these female-male pairings are pretty much destined to flop. They all lead to romantic storylines or something stupid like that, and in the end, they do little to nothing for either the superstar or the Diva. 

Zack Ryder does not need to be paired with Eve in some ridiculous storyline where he has a crush on her or dates her. He needs to do what he’s been doing, continue to get himself over with the crowd and try to be taken more seriously as the United States Champion. 

Sorry to anyone who’s excited about this Eve-Ryder pairing, but I see nothing good coming out of it. Just ask Beth Phoenix, Santino Marella, Tamina, Maryse, Ted DiBiase, Aksana or Goldust.
