Gunner Kiel Delays Decision: How Notre Dame or LSU Can Land Top QB
Everybody expected a decision last week about where the top quarterback prospect would end up.
They are still waiting.
Gunner Kiel had hoped to have a decision made by Christmas, but he has delayed his decision. I guess making a choice between several top schools is hard work and takes a little time.
The top quarterback prospect has narrowed his list down to LSU, Vanderbilt and Notre Dame. And a decision could be announced any day now.
Here is what LSU and Notre Dame could do to help make sure they're the school he wants to play for.
Land Dorial Green-Beckham
1 of 3Dorial Green-Beckham is the top wide receiver prospect in the country and has offers on the table from both of these teams. While he has shown a ton of interest in schools like Texas and Missouri, neither one of these programs can't be counted out.
Green-Beckham is a monster at 6'6", 220 pounds and is an ultimate red-zone target and deep threat. It doesn't take much to look good when your quarterback is throwing this guy the football.
He would instantly give either of these teams a No.1 wide receiver option and Gunner Kiel a solid weapon.
Get a Commitment from a Top OT
2 of 3Both schools have shown interest in one of the top offensive tackles in Andrus Peat and have extended an offer to the 6'7", 205 pound young man.
Peat is exactly what an offensive tackle should be—massive, with great footwork.
Notre Dame may have the advantage in this department, as they have also received a visit from Arik Armstead, who is another top offensive tackle in this years class. He's 6'8", 275 pounds, extremely strong and moves defenders around with ease.
Protecting the quarterback is key, and whichever team is more capable of doing so, will have an advantage in landing Kiel.
Win Your Bowl Game
3 of 3We all know both of these teams are extremely talented, but winning your bowl game will prove that these coaches can actually produce results.
LSU is of course playing in the national championship against a great Alabama team. And Notre Dame is playing another talented team in Florida State.
A win will not only be big for both programs moving forward but will give recruits another reason to want to play for their school. The last thing any of these teams want is an excuse not to play for them.
A win in the bowl season would eliminate that.
