Serie A Transfer Rumours: 15 Biggest Players Bound for Italy in January

While it may not always get the darling eyes of the media that the English Premier League does, the Italian Serie A is one of great excitement and parody as well.

The transfer window is just as anticipated on the peninsula as it is anywhere else, and the top clubs in Italy are hoping to consolidate their power while the lower clubs hope to ensure they can knock off a big club or two on the way to either a surprise finish or just staying up.

With just over 48 hours left until the opening of the window, the rumors are piling up as to where players just might be headed come the turn of 2012.

Filippo Inzaghi to Novara

Although he is perhaps one of the greatest legends to have ever pulled on the Rossoneri's red and black strip, Filippo Inzaghi looks like he could be headed out of AC Milan.

Novara manager Attilio Tesser has admitted to his club's interest in a "dream" move for the striker, according to Goal.com.

However, the Piedmontese Boys chief has admitted that he believes that Inzaghi will more than likely remain with Milan until the summer.

Seydou Keita to AC Milan

AC Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic never really fit in at Barcelona and now he appears to be attempting to help lure some of his old teammates to come to Italy, as the Rossoneri are reigniting their pursuit of the midfielder.

Goal.com reports that the the Mali international could switch clubs but is not believed to be doing so in January.

Liverpool has also been thought to be interested in the player and could rival Milan for his signature when the time comes.

Radja Nainggolan to Milan or Juve

Cagliari's 23-year-old Belgian starlet, Radja Nainggolan, has become a hot target of both AC Milan and Juventus.

Juventus are keen to add more depth in their midfield and the possible departure of Milos Krasic could also be prompting the interest.

AC Milan are also looking to more youthful depth with Mark Van Bommel is nearing the end of his career.

Riccardo Montolivo to Big Three

While Riccardo Montolivo has been declared unsellable by Fiorentina, there could still be a chance that if the right offer came in, the Viola could be convinced to cash in on the Italian international.

He has said that he wants to remain in Florence until the summer to complete his contract, but the thought of losing him on a free transfer could tempt the club to change their mind come the latter part of the winter transfer window.

Arevalo Rios to Palermo

Sky Sports has announced that Palermo has sealed the transfer of Uruguayan holding midfielder Arevalo Rios from Mexican club Tijuana for a fee of £2.9 million.

This will be the eighth time the player has moved in the last five years, but his success at the 2011 Copa America has been the basis for the Sicilian club to go after him.

Filip Kostic to Udinese

Serbian 19-year-old starlet Filip Kostic has caught the eye of a number of major clubs across Europe. Italian side Udinese are reported to be interested in the youngster who plays currently for Radnicki 1923.

His fee is anticipated to be in the range of £1.7 million or more, but the Serie A side will likely face stiff competition to sign him from a host of other clubs in Europe.

Juan Jesus to Inter

Brazilian international defender Juan is expected to make a switch to Inter Milan come January.

Currently on the roster of Brazilian club Internacional, the 20-year-old is anticipating his believed move by the day according to Sky Sports.

Lucas Biglia to Fiorentina

ASC Anderlecht midfielder Lucas Biglia has been a target of several English Premier League clubs since the summer, but he is now being linked with a switch to Fiorentina in January.

His targeting is most likely as the replacement for Riccardo Montolivo, whom the Viola know they are more than likely going to lose in January or for certain next summer.

Alberto Gilardino to Genoa

Fiorentina striker Alberto Gilardino is thought to be packing his bags for Genoa to make a move out of Florence come January.

The attacker is thought to be moving for £6.7 million, and his deal will seal the arrival of Catania striker Maxi Lopez to the Viola as his replacement.

Stefan Savic Loan to Roma

Manchester City brought in Partizan Belgrade and Montenegrin defender Stefan Savic over the summer as another youthful signing for their bright future.

He has not been able to get a long run of games in the EPL due to the depth of City's defense and is believed to be making a loan move to Roma for the remainder of the season.

Maxi Lopez to Milan or Genoa

Catania striker Maxi Lopez is linked with several sides in Italy at the moment.

One rumor is that he will head to AC Milan if their Carlos Tevez move falls through, while another claims he is heading to Genoa.

Fiorentina also have been linked with a move for him, according to Sky Sports, as the sale of Alberto Gilardino is expected to make available the funds to secure Lopez.

Amauri to Genoa

Juventus forward Amauri is expected to be on the move come January as he looks for another escape route from Turin like he was offered by Parma last season.

Genoa is rumored to be looking to him as their new striker, while Fiorentina could also be eyeing him if their move for Maxi Lopez falls through.

Carlos Tevez to AC Milan

Carlos Tevez and his transfer saga continues as a failed move to Corinthians in the summer has led to rumor after rumor, including a monthlong link with AC Milan.

The Rossoneri's Adriano Galliani claimed to have agreed personal terms with Carlos Tevez in early December.

However, as the month has rolled along his move has garnered support from current AC Milan player Kevin-Prince Boateng, as the attacker believes Tevez would be a perfect fit for the club.

More than likely the move could fall through as Manchester City are only looking to sell the player, and Milan could be more interested in a loan with a buy option.

Dede to Juventus

Vasco De Gama defender Dede looks to be heading to Italy as Juventus are among the leaders for the players signature.

The 23-year-old has been in fine form in Brazil and his agent claims the currently the most interest in the player is coming from the Serie A.
