Magic vs. Thunder: Durant and Westbrook Will Be Too Much for Magic to Handle

Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant is simply too much for a team like the Orlando Magic to handle.

Reigning scoring-champion Durant and the Oklahoma City Thunder take on the the Orlando Magic in what is set to be an exciting game featuring three of the more explosive talents in the league—Durant, Westbrook and Dwight Howard.

Last season, Westbrook and Durant were arguably two of the best in the game when it came to scoring the basketball, averaging a combined 49.6 points per game. Both Durant and Westbrook ranked No. 1 and No. 13 in the NBA last season when it came to putting up points.

If there was one area where the Magic thrive in, it's their ability to play solid defense. They will undoubtedly be able to challenge the Thunder with their defensive play.

Yet when it comes down to it, the offensive ability of the young stars on the Thunder will be too much to deal with for Howard and the Magic.

Besides the scoring the Thunder bring to the table, the other big concern for these Magic is their inability to keep up with teams scoring points. The team ranked No. 16 in the league last season with just over 99 points scored per game.

Meanwhile, it is the Thunder that ranked No. 5 with nearly 105 points scored per game.

The Thunder also play this game at home, in one of the more difficult arenas to play in in the NBA. The combination of playing in their own building—paired with the fact that Westbrook and Durant are destined to put on a solid offensive performance—gives these Thunder the easy win over Orlando on Christmas Day.
