Eagles vs. Cowboys: Key Halftime Stats for Philadelphia

Joseph MerkelDec 24, 2011

Unfortunately for Eagles fans, the Jets weren't able to deliver the boost they needed in the Big Apple battle. The Eagles were officially knocked out of the playoffs with a Giants victory but Philly has the potential to hand the Cowboys their third loss in four games.

While the Eagles continue to try and ruin the Cowboys' Christmas Eve, let's take a look at some key statistics from the first half of the game.

Michael Vick has been keeping the Eagles in this game with some circus escapes while always looking down the field. Vick connected multiple times down the field for big gains and his 135.6 passer rating is a testament to how effective he's been.

The Eagles haven't been making mistakes today, being flagged just once for five yards. While the game is still in reach for the Cowboys, penalties can often upset momentum so it's good to see the Eagles haven't shot themselves in the foot.

The Eagles have six QB hits but zero sacks. Something's got to give, right? With the pressure Trent Cole and Jason Babin are getting on Stephen McGee (and previously Tony Romo), it's only a matter of time before one of them brings in the team's first sack. Here's hoping it leads to a turnover and a touchdown.
