Bold Predictions for the Washington Wizards for the 2011-12 NBA Season
The Washington Wizards look to improve on a disappointing 2011-12 season and capitalize on the young, talented team they have put together thus far. John Wall looks to improve on a dynamic rookie season and progress even further. Andray Blatche and JaVale McGee look to develop and hopefully reach their potential.
Here are some bold predictions for the Wizards as the 2011-12 season approaches.
Andray Blatche Averages a Double-Double
1 of 5Andray Blatche averaged 16 points and eight rebounds last season. Blatche needs to work on becoming more physical and aggressive when it comes to the defensive side of the ball. He needs to do a better job of crashing the boards being 6' 11".
I expect him to average around the same amount of points and increase his rebound average this season. He should average around 10 rebounds, giving him a double-double for the year.
Javale McGee Will Also Average a Double-Double
2 of 5JaVale McGee averaged eight points and 10 rebounds last season. He is too athletic not to improve this upcoming season and put up bigger numbers. McGee should work on improving his game at the post as he has the size to work over most defenders.
McGee will increase his average points total for the season and average about 11 rebounds to add him to the double-double club.
John Wall Makes the All-Star Team
3 of 5It will be tough, but I believe John Wall will make the All-Star team this year. He had a great rookie campaign last season, and he will continue to improve this year.
Wall will decrease the amount of turnovers this year and continue to dazzle the NBA with his blazing speed and ability.
Flip Saunders Will Be Fired During the Season
4 of 5I like Flip Saunders in his role, and I believe he is one heck of a coach. However, I am not quite sure if he is the right coach for this young Washington Wizards team. A new voice may be needed to lead this team to the level they could reach.
Blatche and McGee just don't seem to respond to Saunders, and if the Wizards start the season off slow, Saunders will unfortunately lose his job.
Washington Wizards Will Continue to Improve
5 of 5The Washington Wizards will be a better team this year, but will still fall short of the playoffs. The Wizards continue to get younger and had a good 2011 draft by adding Jan Vesely, Chris Singleton and Shelvin Mack.
They will be a competitive team and make strides, but are one year away from make some serious noise in the Eastern Conference. With the 2012 NBA Draft being a deep one, the Wizards will continue to improve and assemble a young and dynamic roster.
