Tim Tebow: Broncos QB Gives Haters Plenty of Ammo After Nightmare in Buffalo

Tim Tebow was awful against Buffalo in their Christmas Eve matchup, which inevitably means the haters will be out in full force this week.

Tebow is the most polarizing athlete in America because of his outspoken religious beliefs and unique skill set on-field. When he succeeds, his cult-like following rubs it in your face relentlessly. When he fails, his haters can be just as annoying.

This week, you can expect plenty of Tebow bashing. And much of it will be justified.

Tebow supporters could always rely on two basic truths: 1) he doesn't turn the ball over and, 2) he finds a way to win. But with back-to-back losses and a slew of interceptions, both of those arguments have been blasted to pieces.

Coming into Week 16, Tebow had taken care of the ball beautifully, throwing just two interceptions on the season. Against Buffalo, however, he tried to force passes and failed dismally.

He only completed 13 of 30 attempts (43.3 percent) and was picked off four times. Two of those came in the fourth quarter and were returned for scores, crippling the Broncos in what was supposed to be "Tebow Time."

The Bills also did a great job of limiting Tebow on the ground, where he is the most dangerous. He carried the ball 10 times but was limited to just 34 yards. He did have a one-yard touchdown run in the first quarter, but the success was short lived.

Tebow played poorly this week and he deserves some criticism. Still, it's important to maintain proper perspective: things are never as good or bad as they seem. Tebow isn't Peyton Manning, but he's not Joey Harrington either.

Tebow will bounce back next week and lead the Broncos to victory over Kansas City.
