Bill Cowher: San Diego Chargers Is Right Fit for Highly Coveted Head Coach
The mystique and enamor surrounding retired coach Bill Cowher will likely materialize next season, but if the rumors are true, he could be going to a team who didn't even look like they were in the running for his services.
Mark Cannizzaro of the New York Post claims that not only are the San Diego Chargers coveting Cowher, they've already interviewed him.
There is no better place for Cowher to land than San Diego. He's an East Coast guy, but he's not exactly going to be roughing it in San Diego.

The Chargers are also underachieving. The franchise quarterback is in place, and they already have the most talented team in the division. Like Jim Harbaugh, Cowher would be handed a team that has the potential to compete in the AFC immediately.
Cowher has done it all. He's proven he can assemble a team that can win it all, and in San Diego, where so many high-profile coaches have fallen short of the ultimate prize, that's all that matters.
The Chargers lack leadership right now, and with most of the pieces in place, Cowher would give them just the boost they need to become a contender once again.
Cowher won't have the Steelers defense at his disposal, but it's not as though he's starting from scratch. The Chargers have tremendous potential for improvement and a roster packed with talent.
Cowher would enter a can't-miss situation with huge potential for success. The Giants still look like the most natural fit, but it shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone that a dark horse has emerged in the race for the coach who sits atop every team with a vacancy's wish list.
