WWE Raw Christmas 2001: A Look Back 10 Years Later
First, I wish everybody a happy holidays! I hope everybody is having a great weekend. It is my favorite time of the year, and I live in Wisconsin! The weather is not too bad here, but none of that matters here.
This is all about a WWE Raw episode that aired 10 years ago. It was a rare Christmas show for WWE Raw, and I thought it'd be fun to look back at the matches on this night.
Test vs. Rikishi

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
This was a fine way to open the show. Both guys were getting a little bit of a push, and I enjoyed each wrestler 10 years ago.
I always thought Test was right on the cusp being a main event performer, but he never did reach the top. The same can be said about Rikishi.
Anyway, the match was thrown out after some shenanigans with the referee, Tim White.
APA vs. Billy and Chuck
This was about the time I really lost interest in the APA. They just did not do it for me anymore, and many other teams had surpassed them in the ring.
Billy and Chuck was a great one-year ride, and they showed off why here! They cheated to pick up the win as fans celebrated all over the world!
RVD vs. Lance Storm
Good match. There was no doubt about who was coming out as the winner, but each man was always nice to watch inside the ring.
Storm's push was slowing down at this point. Rob's push was just starting up again. No harm. No foul.
Eggnog Match: Torrie vs. Stacy
Yeah, this was the usual diva's match 10years ago. It was fun for its time, but it serves no purpose in 2011.
Things have changed drastically, and seeing this again would make no difference. Torrie won.
European Championship Match: Christian vs. Hurricane
They were in Miami, so that explains the "Hurricane" theme (football team name). Sadly, there was no way Helms was winning the belt here.
Christian was doing well as a midcard heel, and he showed why by picking up a nice win!
Booker T vs. Maven
I always thought Maven could have done a little bit more in WWE. His face run was forgettable, but he had a nice turn in 2004. Booker has always been entertaining. He was here as well, beating Maven pretty easily.
Tajiri vs. Bubba Ray Dudley
Both were dressed as Santa Claus, and that is all that needs to be said.
It was a comedy match, but that is fine for Christmas. In the end, Tajiri won after Tazz helped him out. Okay match for the holidays. Just fun from WWE!
WWE Undisputed Championship Match: Chris Jericho vs. Kurt Angle vs. The Rock
Again, they were in Miami, so everybody wanted Rocky to win the gold on this night. Angle had next to no chance of winning, so his inclusion was not really needed here.
Jericho was the reigning champion of the world, and I doubt many expected him to drop it so quickly.
The triple-threat match was about as good as it could have been, but I never did get into this match. Not 10 years ago. Not watching it over again. Jericho retained the title, and everything continued on as normal the next show...
REMINDER: I am now on Twitter @JustinWatry! Happy holidays, folks!
