The Philadelphia Eagles (6-8) are packing their bags and heading to Jerry World to take on the NFC East-leading Dallas Cowboys (8-6) for a Christmas Eve showdown. 

With only two games left in the season, the two rivals will look at this game as a "must win" in order to fulfill their season's goal of making the playoffs. 

The Eagles will need some help from the New York Jets in order to remain in the hunt. They'll need the Jets to beat the New York Giants on Saturday in order to stay alive. The Jets and Giants game should reach a conclusion before the Eagles and Cowboys kickoff at 4:15 EST.

Meanwhile, the Cowboys are not quite as desperate as the Eagles, as the Cowboys hold a one-game lead in the division. However, the Cowboys need to keep winning in order to ensure that they finish with the best record in the NFC East. 

If the Cowboys end up with a record equal to the New York Giants, then the Giants will take the division, as they own the tie-breaker. 

The Cowboys lost to the Eagles convincingly during Week 8 in a 34-7 blowout, so they know not to take the Eagles offense—which ranks third in the NFL in average yards per game (400.7)—lightly. 

However, the Cowboys own the sixth-ranked offense and can light up the scoreboard just as easily, especially on their home turf. 

Both teams have solid but unspectacular defenses, so this game could very well come down to which team has a better nose for the end zone. 

Since the game will feature two rival teams fighting for playoff spots on a rare Christmas Eve setting, it's possible that it will go down as an instant classic. 

Due to the unique circumstances, this is a game of interest for any football fan.
