NFL Picks Week 16: Tim Tebow and Broncos Will Prevail vs. Bills

Austin GreenDec 23, 2011

Tim Tebow and the Denver Broncos will take another step towards claiming the AFC West title by running all over the Buffalo Bills on Saturday.

The Broncos got taken to school by Tom Brady in the Patriots last week, so a matchup with the Bills couldn't have come at a better time.

Buffalo went down in flames this season, dropping seven straight games after starting out 5-2. They constantly get shredded by good rushing attacks, so expect Tebow and Willis McGahee to dominate.

The Bills are 28th in the NFL in opponent's rushing yards (139.5 per game), and only two teams have allowed more touchdowns on the ground.

The Broncos, with their league-leading rushing attack, should have plenty of success.

Last week, the Bills gave up a ridiculous 203 yards to Reggie Bush, including a 76-yard touchdown. And Denver's offense, led by the dual-threat Tebow, is much more difficult to game plan for.

Although Tebow threw the ball 40 times in Week 14, Denver is basically running an offense from the late 1970s. It's incredibly cliche, but they're playing hard-nosed, smashmouth football. And it's working.

The Broncos are 7-2 with Tebow under center. They lost last week, but there's no shame in getting beat by an 11-3 New England team. Plus, I'm sure Tebow learned a few things after watching Tom Brady perform surgery.

It will be a fairly close game, because blowouts aren't exactly the Broncos' thing. But in the end, McGahee, Tebow and the Denver offensive line will be too much for Buffalo to handle.

Prediction: Denver 24, Buffalo 17
