NFL Playoff Predictions: 3 Teams Whose Playoff Experience Will Pay off Most

Chris TrapassoDec 23, 2011

Experience is the most important thing a team can have when it comes to the NFL playoffs.

Having been in and getting through the most pressure-packed situations with the season on the line is invaluable.

These three teams will benefit the most from having postseason experience in January.

Baltimore Ravens

The Ravens have only played in road playoff games since Joe Flacco has been the starting quarterback.

That's what playing in a division with the Steelers can do to a team.

Although they haven't reached the Super Bowl during his time behind center, they've gone into some extremely hostile environments and played relatively well.

They know what it takes to win in the postseason, having felt the agony of January defeat over the last few seasons.

Throw in the fact that the defensive is loaded with playoff experience and has Ray Lewis who was a member of the 2001 Super Bowl-winning club, and you realize this team has ideal postseason makeup.

New England Patriots

Similar to the Ravens, the fact that the Patriots have recently experienced failure in the playoffs will help them.

They know other teams aren't going to sit down playing inside Gillette Stadium, and they aren't invincible.

The defense is relatively young, but the offense, especially Tom Brady and the line that protects him, have seen it all in January and February.

Green Bay Packers

I do think the playoff experience of the Falcons and Saints' playoff experience could greatly benefit both clubs, but how can you go against the defending champions and what they went through last year to win it all?

Sure, there's a target on their back this year that wasn't there in 2010, but they captured the title against a great deal of odds.

They were on the road and were dealing with a multitude of injuries.

Green Bay found a way to show up in the game's most critical moments last year with Aaron Rodgers as their quarterback.

What's to say they can't do it again?
