Chicago Blackhawks Video: Watch NHL Stars Create Hilarious Holiday Sing-Along

Tim DanielsDec 23, 2011

The Chicago Blackhawks currently sit atop the NHL with 48 points and when a team is having that much success, they can afford to have a little fun. That's exactly what Blackhawks players did by singing some classic holiday songs amended to use their names.

A video of the team's treat for its fans is embedded above and is certainly worth watching.

Here are some of the best tracks:

Patrick Sharp Is Comin' to Town

Sharp has 18 goals in 35 games, so it only makes sense that “NHL goalies don't think that he's nice.” It's also pretty funny that the ugly Christmas sweater he's wearing likely came from the women's section at a local department store.

Frolik Navidad

Based on the Jose Feliciano holiday favorite, the best part about this song is Michael Frolik's accent. It really brings a genuine flair to the song. Also, the fact he's missing one of his teeth makes it all the better.

Deck Jamal

Jamal Mayers is one of the league's toughest players and as the song says, “Deck Jamal and you'll be sorry.” He has accumulated more than 1,100 penalty minutes in 850 career games, mostly because he isn't afraid to drop the gloves.

It's also cool that everybody involved in the project seemed to have a good time doing it. Sometimes these promotional pieces from professional teams look like the players were being held against their will in a room somewhere, but the Blackhawks pulled it off nicely.

They continue to be one of the NHL's best young teams and have the pieces in place to contend for several more Stanley Cups. That also means fans will probably be treated to more fun videos like this in the future.

Hopefully they're all as good as this one.
