Week 16 Fantasy Rankings: Tom Brady, LeSean McCoy and Top Performers This Week

Eric BowmanDec 24, 2011

In the closing weeks of the NFL regular season, it can be tough to gauge which players will shine because some stars may not play the whole game.

However, with such a tight playoff race, there will be a number of elite players giving it their all in Week 16.

Fantasy football is all about matchups, and this Christmas Eve is filled with favorable ones for the big stars.

With that said, here are my predictions for some of the top performers in Week 16.

Tom Brady, QB

The New England Patriots will host the Miami Dolphins this weekend, and Brady is going to dominate once again.

In their first meeting, the season opener, Brady threw for over 500 yards. I doubt that happens again, but he's still in for a fantastic performance.

Both teams have gone through a lot since the first game, but the pass defense for Miami and New England still stinks. The Patriots may have the AFC East locked up, but they want the season sweep over the Dolphins, which is why Brady will crush Miami.

With help from Wes Welker and Rob Gronkowski, Brady will shine bright and lead all quarterbacks in Week 16.

LeSean McCoy, RB

The Philadelphia Eagles hit the road to play their arch rival, the Dallas Cowboys. It's a crucial game for both teams because the outcome will have a huge impact on the NFC East race.

In the first meeting, McCoy rushed for a season-high 185 yards and scored twice. His numbers may not be that high, but he's going to get over 100 yards with no problem.

The Eagles have new life in them now that they have a shot at winning the division, and that is why McCoy will excel.

In the last four games, McCoy has scored seven touchdowns, and his hot streak will not be coming to end. Philadelphia needs McCoy to be on his A-game, and he'll deliver for his fans and fantasy owners.

Maurice Jones-Drew, RB

The Jacksonville Jaguars are also on the road against a division rival, and it will be Jones-Drew who helps the team stay relevant against the Tennessee Titans.

Jones-Drew has been a beast all season long, and without him, the Jaguars may not have won a game this year.

The first time Jones-Drew went up against the Titans, he scored once and fell three yards shy of 100.

Even though he's only scored two touchdowns in his last four games, Jones-Drew is a true workhorse that will put up a great deal of points against the Titans 23rd-ranked run defense.

The Titans have given up 319 rushing yards in the last two games, which means Jones-Drew is in for a fantastic showing on Saturday.

If the Dolphins want any shot at winning on Saturday, they're going to air it out a ton. This means that Marshall will see a ton of targets thrown his way.

In the past two games, Marshall was targeted a total of 16 times. When the Patriots and Dolphins played each other earlier in the year, Marshall was target 13 times.

Matt Moore is now the quarterback, and he and Marshall have developed a great chemistry together over the last couple of months.

New England's defense is the worst in the league, and they're going to give up big plays to Marshall.
