NFL Week 16 Picks: Predictions for Every Prime-Time Game

Chris TrapassoDec 22, 2011

The NFL is oozing with playoff implications, loads of story lines and high drama, maybe even some snow.

My idea of a fantastic holiday weekend.

We should be treated to that in Week 16 and here are my predictions for the two prime-time battles.

Chicago Bears at Green Bay Packers

It's too bad Jay Cutler and Matt Forte were injured. This could have been quite the intriguing matchup.

Instead we get Aaron Rodgers vs. Josh McCown.

Not exactly the perfect matchup for Christmas night.

Rodgers, even without Greg Jennings, should be able to carve up the Bears secondary, and with all their offensive line injuries, don't be surprised if more quick throws are utilized.

Even if it's close at the half, the Packers should pull way in the second stanza.

Atlanta Falcons at New Orleans Saints

These teams are extremely similar.

Both have top-notch quarterbacks (Brees is clearly a bit better than Ryan), legitimate running games and loads of weapons split out wide.

Don't forget about Tony Gonzalez, and I know you haven't forgotten Jimmy Graham.

Each of the last four meetings between these two clubs have been decided by three points, so they're certainly aware of each other's tendencies on both offense and defense.

Although I know the history of the visitor in this series, sorry Falcons fans, I simply can't bet against Brees at home in prime time.

Too much firepower and too much energy from the crowd.
