Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Carolina: Low Expectations on Christmas Eve

Tom EdringtonDec 22, 2011

Wouldn't it be nice if the Tampa Bay Buccaneers would simply COMPETE with the Carolina Panthers on Christmas Eve afternoon?

That's how bad it's gotten.

Win?

How about simply not getting blown out?

It's that bad, it's possibly nine-losses-in-a-row bad, which makes it 1985 Leeman Bennett bad and that's really bad, like in an 0-9 start bad.

Merry Christmas, Cam Newton, you'll have these Buccaneers gift-wrapped and delivered to you and your cohorts, a bad football team that gets worse every week, a team spinning out of control, a team that has left its fans with nothing but a really bad taste in their collective mouths.

The last meeting between these teams was a blowout with Newton looking every bit like a Rookie of the Year in the NFL.

If Carolina is bad, then Tampa Bay is simply a disaster. It is the Titanic and the Edmund Fitzgerald rolled together into one twisted pile of a football team.

On the other end is that dope named Kellen Winslow Jr., who still professes that Raheem Morris is the second coming of Vince Lombardi. "Coach Morris is the best motivational guy I've been around," Winslow said this week. "He get his guys going."

Winslow needs to shut his pie-hole.

If this is how Morris "gets his guys going" then the Glazers have something to think about between now and the final game in Atlanta.

Have you run into anyone this week who expects this team to win Saturday?

Christmas miracles?

Sorry, but this team simply doesn't deserve one.

And the Buccaneer fans don't deserve to watch these guys stink it up week after week.

Davin Joseph is right. It is tough for this team to figure anything out.

They haven't even figured out how to be competitive.

Win?

Bah-Humbug.
