LeBron James: Lame Attempt at Pity Points Proof Heat Star Still Doesn't Get It
LeBron James is still not over the past.
The guy that pretended it was no big deal to run over an entire city with a bus multiple times is still looking for people to feel sorry for him.
James was asked to compare his situation last summer to the one Dwight Howard is currently going through in Orlando. According to the comments LeBron made to the Orlando Sentinel, the two situations aren’t very close to each other: "No, he ain’t going through what I went through, don’t say that. He’s nowhere near going through what I went through."
We all feel soooo sorry for you LeBron. Gimme a break.
This is different because Howard is trying to throw his franchise a bone by telling them he wants a trade now instead of quietly waiting for the end of the season to jump ship and leave your first franchise with absolutely nothing in return.
James made it sound like he was going to return to his hometown team (Akron is close enough to Cleveland to call it as much!) only to shove it down their throats in a one-hour TV special that made 95 percent of the country want to puke.
Now he is trying to act like some sort of victim over a year later?
This is different because Howard is handling everything 100 times better.
The real comparison here is Carmelo Anthony. He privately told the Denver Nuggets he was leaving so the team could get something in return for him. Denver ended up getting a ridiculous haul from the Knicks and everyone is happy now.
LeBron still doesn’t understand how he set the Cavaliers franchise back five years or how he betrayed the fans that would have taken a bullet for him. One fake ESPN apology isn’t going to cut it.
LeBron needs to stop mentioning his “indecision” gaffe and focus on the future.
The past is only going to haunt him at this point.
