Anquan Boldin Injury: Updates on Ravens WR's Week 16 Status and Fantasy Value

T.J. McaloonDec 22, 2011

Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Anquan Boldin is going to miss the next two weeks because of a surgery on his meniscus. That means the talented Ravens receiver will be out for the remainder of the regular season, and you should find a replacement in your starting lineup.

The knee injury was reported by Ravens insider Aaron Wilson when he sent out this tweet:

According to the Associated Press, Ravens head coach John Harbaugh had this to say about Boldin’s injury:

He's got a slight tear in his meniscus. It flapped up on him, I think it was Tuesday night after the walkthrough. He's going to have to get it repaired. It's two weeks and he'll be back for the playoffs, whatever round we happen to play in. It will be a little bit tighter if we have to play in the first round.

"

Boldin was Baltimore’s leading receiver in yards and targets with 887 and 105. However, over his last five games, Boldin has vastly under performed.

Over those last five games, he has failed to have more than five catches or gain over 65 yards, and had only has one touchdown.

With those stats, it looks like the Ravens’ passing game will not be that effected with Boldin out of the lineup.

If you were still playing the Ravens wide receiver in fantasy, you should look for Torrey Smith or Lee Evans on your waiver wire as a replacement. Evans should get Boldin’s starting spot in the offense, and Smith leads the team in receiving touchdowns with seven.

We will have any more updates if they come through.
