Chelsea FC: Gael Kakuta to Join French Side Dijon on Loan

Greg ProbertDec 22, 2011

According to reports in the Daily Mail (not the most reliable source, I know), Gael Kakuta will be joining French side Dijon.

This deal is due to take place when his current loan deal with Bolton Wanderers comes to an end on January 1st.

Since joining Bolton, he has only managed to play four times in the first team. It is Chelsea's hope that some regular first team football will bring back the talent he displayed in past performances.

Rather than playing in the wide positions he has been occupying, it is thought that Kakuta will take up a more central and creative midfield role, where his vision and skills can be fully displayed and nurtured.

If this detail materialises, I can see it benefiting both clubs in the present and future. If Kakuta was to gain some experience and confidence and play like all his admirers predicted, he could be a massive part of Chelsea's future.

With Dijon sitting not too pretty at 16th in the table—only a point above the relegation zone—they could do with a little creative spark and inspiration to help catapult them to a safer place in the table.

This deal may not seem a major one right now, but if it can help the 20-year-old future star reach his full potential, it would be like a new signing for Chelsea in it's new era.
