WWE Rumors: Why Chris Jericho's Imminent Return Is Good for the Company
Yes, the WWE needs Chris Jericho.
While the wrestling organization appears to be on a roll headed into the new year after a solid December Tables, Ladders and Chairs PPV event, the possibility of one of the most polarizing wrestlers to ever lace up boots in the WWE returning is a good thing for this company on many counts.
Jericho, the first ever unified champion in WWE history, is the closest thing the company has had to a Shawn Michaels since, well, Shawn Michaels.

If you look at the WWE right now, there is much change that is taking place, and making a move to bring Jericho back may make the transition of new stars like Zack Ryder and Daniel Bryan that much easier to promote. So much has been made of Mark Henry facing Big Show, Kane challenging John Cena and CM Punk taking on the likes of Dolph Ziggler, Alberto Del Rio and the Miz, and Jericho may give the company more balance.
I said could, not would.
Jericho instantly gives whichever brand he joins more credibility. He is the best mic man around, and he may not have signed a contract yet to rejoin the promotion.
Further, a match or feud with Punk and Jericho is money in the bank for WWE management.
Jericho also creates a new angle for the company. The obviously failed attempt to promote a "conspiracy," injuries and recent drug suspensions have forced creative to change its path of thinking.
It happens all the time, but in this case, the path taken really hurt the brands. It failed—something the WWE is not used to doing. And when it failed, it could not get on solid ground to regroup. Del Rio, Miz, Punk and even Cena suffered.
Now, the company can use Jericho and Punk and others as catalysts to make a fresh start in the new year.
And the idea of him returning as a face brings about other possibilities.
What if he feuds with The Miz? What if ADR gets in his way? Could there be some heat from a Cody Rhodes/Jericho match? Would Randy Orton or Wade Barrett be a good opponent?
These questions and more are the reasons why Jericho returning to the WWE is such a good thing for the company and the fans.
