College Football Recruiting 2012: Dec. 21 Turns Into a Huge Day of Commitments
The recruiting process is really heating up, and many are wondering where the top players will end up. While most players have already made their decisions, there are quite a few that can't make up their minds for whatever reason.
Yesterday was a big day, as there were several commitments made. There are, of course, a ton of top recruits that are still scheduled to make their decisions later, but yesterday put a big dent in the whole process.
Here are all of the players that made a commitment on December 21.
Cornerback Otis Jacobs
Mississippi Gulf Coast - Committed to Texas A&M
Defensive End Morgan Breslin
Diablo Valley - Committed to University of Southern California
Defensive Tackle Damien Jacobs
East Mississippi - Committed to Florida
Jacobs is one of the top defensive tackles in the country and very powerful at 6'2", 300 pounds. Look for him to make a strong impact on the Florida Gators team and compete for quality playing time right away.
Linebacker Otis Winston
Chandler High School - Committed to New Mexico
Running Back George Morris
Central Gwinnett High School - Committed to Syracuse
Cornerback Dehendret Collins
Copiah-Lincoln - Committed to Ole Miss
Safety Gerald Bowman
Pierce College - Committed to University of Southern California
Bowman is a very physical safety and is known for his big hits. He is a sure tackler, very athletic and a ball hawk in coverage. This is a huge pick up for the Trojans and fills in a much-needed position.
Offensive lineman Jon Green
North Schuylkill JSHS - Committed to Villanova
Defensive End Darrington Sentimore
Mississippi Gulf Coast - Committed to Tennessee
Defensive End Taiwan Johnson
Manvel HS - Committed to Arkansas
Defensive End Austin Flynn
Los Angeles Harbor - Committed to Arkansas
Running Back Kelvin York
Fullerton - Committed to Utah
OT Pierce Burton
CC of San Francisco - Committed to Ole Miss
WR Alex Jackson
Culver City Senior HS - Committed to Washington State
OT Nick Davidson
Eden Prairie Sr. - Committed to Stanford
Stanford needs offensive lineman, with several of them heading to the NFL this season. Davidson, who is a 4-star recruit, fits the bill. His 6'6", 280-pound body is great for moving defenders and has a long line of family members that played at the next level.
Cornerback Kass Everett
Pierce College - Committed to Oklahoma
Everett may only be 5'10" and 180 pounds, but he doesn't play like it. He is very physical and not afraid to lay a big hit on somebody. He is a very tough corner and should receive playing time soon for the Sooners.
WR Javon Bell
Mississippi Gulf Coast - Committed to Texas Tech
Bell is an extremely fast wide receiver and the ultimate deep threat. He's only 6'0" tall so he does lack size but it's very tough for defenders to keep up with him. His hands are also questionable but this is a solid pick up for the Red Raiders.
C Evan Boehm
Lee's Summit West HS - Committed to Missouri
Boehm is ranked as the No.1 center in the country, so it's always big when you land a top-ranked player like this. He's an extremely strong player that doesn't stop until the whistle blows.
CB Travell Dixon
Eastern Arizona - Committed to Alabama
Dixon has the size Nick Saban likes in his defensive backs at 6'2", 200 pounds. He will fit in extremely well with the rest of the group and just add more depth to an already talented bunch.
DE Shalom Ogbonda
Kempner HS - Committed to FAU
OLB Dallas Griffiths
North Florida Christian - Committed to Maryland
WR Alonzo Agwuenu
Mount San Antonio - Committed to Arizona State
OT Steven Moore
Elk Grove HS - Committed to California
OLB Khalil Pettway
Culver City Senior HS - Committed to Washington State
DT Jake Sheffield
College of the Desert - Committed to Arizona State
WR Jehu Chesson
Ladue Horton Watkins HS - Committed to Michigan
