Why Triple H Shouldn't Be Undertaker's WrestleMania 28 Opponent

John NizinskiDec 21, 2011

With WrestleMania 28 creeping up on us, the WWE is going to start building up for the huge event.

Undertaker's situation for WrestleMania is going to be one of the most interesting stories, as it is possible that Triple H is Undertaker's opponent for the second straight year.

Further, this could very easily be Taker's last WrestleMania as he tries to make his streak go to 20.

The person to take a crack at snapping Taker's streak should not be Triple H

He Has Had His Chance

Triple H did all he could do to win last year and he still could not pull it off.

This also was not Triple H's first match against Undertaker at WrestleMania; Triple H lost to Taker at WrestleMania 17 and 27.

Having Triple H as Undertaker's opponent again would be too repetitive and the WWE Universe wants something new.

Triple H Will Appear Weak

There is about a 98 percent chance that Undertaker will win. So if Triple H fights him again, he will most likely be on the losing end once again.

As a result, Triple H's character will appear weak in his failure to beat the Undertaker for the third time.

With the small amount of legends left in the company, the WWE can't afford for one of its top superstars to lose some credibility.

Been There Done That

WrestleMania 25 featured Undertaker against Shawn Michaels. At WrestleMania 26, Undertaker's opponent was again Shawn Michaels.

Having Triple H against the Undertaker at WrestleMania 28 would mean that Undertaker has faced two superstars in four WrestleManias, and again, would make it repetitive.

Having Triple H wrestle Undertaker in a rematch it would be as if the WWE was recycling old material, especially if the match is streak vs. career.

Other Deserving Opponents

There are many directions the WWE can go with the return of Undertaker for WrestleMania. The most obvious choice would be Kane.

Kane has returned with the mask and is back to his old ways that helped make him become a wrestling icon. Undertaker and Kane are supposed to be brothers and Undertaker has the most history with Kane.

What better way to end Undertaker's career than to have his last match be against his brother?

Another way to go would be against another person who he has had a lot of history with. That person is Mick Foley.

Foley does not have a lot left in the tank, but his return has yet to have a significant purpose. One final match for each superstar could lead them to going all out and having a match that would be like their Hell in the Cell match.

Another way the company could go would be to put the "Deadman" up against a new rising superstar. One person that fits the bill is Wade Barrett. Wade Barrett is becoming one of the top heels in the company, which could lead to a match against the Undertaker.
