NFL Week 16 Picks: Tim Tebow Will Give Denver Broncos the Playoffs for Christmas

The fairy tale continues as Tim Tebow gets the win and the hated Raiders lose giving Broncos fans a taste of pure heaven on Christmas Day. 

That may be the most nauseating notions that my feeble brain has ever drummed up. Fairy tales don't really float the ol' boat, but the science of the weekend is what yields absolute confidence that the jig is up for Oakland and the time is right for Denver. 

The playoff picture is clear for the Broncos. They are in with a win over the Bills in Buffalo combined with a loss by the Raiders who play at Kansas City. 

They can of course also get in this weekend with a win combined with losses by the Jets, Titans and and Bengals, but that version makes my head hurt. The easier route is the one that will work and give the Broncos a soft AFC West Division. 

Raiders at Chiefs

The Chiefs have the full complement of momentum going into this contest. The Raiders have lost three straight games in which their defense has allowed teams like the Dolphins and Lions do as they please.

What worries me is the lapse they suffered late in the game against Detroit, giving the Lions a come-from-behind win. 

On the flip side, the Chiefs just served the Green Bay Packers their only loss of this wild season. They are hungry now that Todd Haley is gone and that makes them dangerous against a recently woeful Raiders team. 

Broncos at Bills 

Speaking of momentum issues, we now bring you the Buffalo Bills. After starting off as a surprise contender in the early season, the Bills have gone on to lose the last seven games. 

Meanwhile, the Denver Broncos have gone 6-1 in that same span. This game will come down to taking care of the ball. The Bills have been mired by penalties and turnovers lately. 

So in a rare turn, the Broncos shouldn't even need Tebow's last second antics as the Bills will be more than happy to shoot themselves in the foot. 

Thus, the Broncos will wake up on Sunday with the playoffs sitting under their Christmas trees.
