WrestleMania 28: Why Triple H Could Be The Undertaker's Opponent

WrestleMania 28 is coming up and the preparation for it has begun.  One of things fans are anticipating is what is going to happen with The Undertaker.  He has been out all year because of injuries. He is also unable to be an everyday superstar.  This could very easily be 'Taker's last WrestleMania as he tries to make his streak go to 20.

Last year, The Undertaker once again put on one of the best matches at WrestleMania and defeated Triple H.

It is still unclear who The Undertaker will face at WrestleMania 28—it could be Triple H. 

Triple H's Promo at Slammy's

During his promo—after winning the award for “OMG Moment of the Year”—Triple H mentioned his WrestleMania 27 match against The Undertaker.  Triple H was busy feuding with Kevin Nash, so why would he mention Undertaker's name?  

Could it be just to remind everyone that The Undertaker is still involved with the company? Or could it be that, now that Triple H is done with Kevin Nash, he will turn his attention towards his future WrestleMania opponent—The Undertaker.

Triple H Was Close to Ending the Streak

A few times at WrestleMania 27, Triple H looked as if he was going to end the streak.  He delivered a tombstone to The Undertaker and did Taker's signature pin, but could not finish off the Deadman.  

The Undertaker looked as if he was "dead," until Triple H made the mistake of trying to end him with a sledgehammer shot. Taker somehow finished Triple H with a Hell's Gate.  

The streak being snapped has been the concern of each match lately and it was in more jeopardy than ever at WrestleMania 27.

The Match Was Good

Triple H's second shot at beating The Undertaker at WrestleMania was also one of The Undertaker's best WrestleMania matches.  The match's only stipulation was to beat the streak (unlike other matches, such as Shawn Michaels, that have been streak vs. career).  

Since the match was the most recent, it will not be considered his best.  However, after the Deadman's career is officially over and with some time, this match could be considered one of his best.

Although it was not the main event, everything about the match was perfect.  From the unforgettable entrances to the ending where Undertaker could not leave the ring by his own will.

The History

Triple H has had two chances to grab a victory at WrestleMania against The Undertaker.  WrestleMania 17 also featured Triple H vs. Undertaker.  

This match was a battle that included a ref being knocked out and Triple H going through the "often destroyed" Spanish announcing table.  It also included a successful use of the sledgehammer by Triple H. However, he was unable to pin Taker after connecting.

The Undertaker, however, ended the match with a last ride and his streak moved to 9 and 0.

The Third Time's a Charm

Although it is very unlikely, The Undertaker could lose at WrestleMania. The WWE is notorious for shocking the fans with a twist and with surprising outcomes.  

The Undertaker has said that he doesn't care about the streak.  He proposed that he would lose to Kurt Angle at WrestleMania 22 to help the match ratings and help make Angle even more of a legend.  

In order to make this the best-rated one possible (five stars), he could possibly lose to Triple H in a career vs. streak match, and end his career with the best match of all time.

Once again, I do not expect this to happen. But you never know.
