Week 16 Waiver Wire Pickups: Kahlil Bell and More Must-Add Championship Winners

Alex KayDec 21, 2011

Congratulations to all you fantasy football players who have made your league championship or semi-finals this week; your long grind to victory is almost at a close.

You have got to this position by being smart in the draft, making great start ‘em, sit ‘em choices and—without a doubt—excellent waiver wire decisions.

You can’t relax yet, though. It’s time to go for the throat and knock your opponent out for good on your way to glory.

Here are some solid waiver wire plays this week to ensure you of a championship.

Kahlil Bell

The Seahawks destroyed the Bears, but the losers found themselves a decent replacement for Matt Forte.

Bell has taken over the majority of touches in the backfield and was even the leading receiver on Sunday.

Fantasy owners who took a chance on him last week were rewarded with 65 yards on the ground and five receptions for 43 yards and a touchdown.

He’s certainly looking like the RB of choice going forward in Chicago.

Brown has emerged as the best back on the Colts roster, even ahead of the now-healthy Joseph Addai.

He had 16 carries for 161 yards and a touchdown while adding a reception for good measure.

Those are solid stats and he should be rostered for emergency purposes.

Matt Moore

This is a gutsy play, but Matt Moore could lead you to a championship because of his matchup this week.

The Dolphins go up against the Patriots and their league-worst passing defense.

Moore has been very effective so far this season and has only thrown two interceptions to 11 touchdowns in the past seven games.

He should have a field day picking apart this New England defense that just lost their best pass rusher in Andre Carter.
