LSU vs. Alabama Rematch: Les Miles vs. Nick Saban Is the Most Interesting Game
Many people have criticized the fact that LSU and Alabama will play in the national championship game because the two teams already faced each other in November.
However, at the end of the day, the matchup between Les Miles and Nick Saban still makes the game the most interesting game in this year’s bowl season.
Miles came to LSU from Oklahoma State and has been without a doubt one of the most successful coaches in the entire country. His teams have all had at least eight wins, including five seasons with 11 or more, and he won the SEC West in three out of seven tries.
Saban has coached all around the country and even spent time in the NFL. He has won two national championships. What makes this matchup even more interesting is the fact that he won one of those as the head coach of LSU, which is why some people refer to the game when these two teams meet as the Saban Bowl.
Based on the resumes of both coaches, as well as the connection between the two schools, this easily makes the game the most interesting coaching duel in any bowl. However, what really sets it apart is Les Miles and his willingness to call some bizarre plays.
He has earned the nickname “The Mad Hatter,” as he always calls those trick plays when it is advantageous to LSU.
Saban, on the other hand, is one of the most straightforward coaches in the game. Everyone knows that his teams are going to run the ball right up the middle and he challenges you to stop it. His defenses consistently rank with the elite units in the country and this year’s squad is his best yet.
People can criticize the BCS for allowing two teams who already played each other into the national championship, but at least these two coaches will make the rematch one epic battle.
