WWE Rumors: Chris Jericho, Daniel Bryan and Thursday's Top WWE News
When WWE really wants to be great, it can be. We have seen it happen a few times in 2011, which is why there is a feeling of optimism as we enter the new year. All that can change in a hurry, as we know, but right now the ride is fun.
The wrestlers are actually getting pushed ahead of the "sports entertainers," and that has made for a better in-ring product. How long that can last, no one knows, but who cares.
We are here to break down all the latest news, notes, rumors and information from the strange mind of Vince McMahon, and we will tell you what it all means going forward.

WILL CHRIS JERICHO DISAPPOINT WWE FANS ON 1-2-12?
It has been widely assumed since WWE started airing the creepy video packages featuring a boy and a girl in a classroom that the return of Chris Jericho was coming on January 2. But some believe that the videos are too obvious.
Question on Everybody's Mind: Who could the mystery man be if it's not Jericho?
Our Take: If, and at this point it's a big IF, Jericho is not going to show up on Raw in 11 days, my next guess would be Vince McMahon. The video talks about a familiar force ready to take back what is his, and the last time we saw Vinny Mac, he was crying because the board voted him out.
Hype Meter: 5 out of 5 Confusing Conspiracy Theories
In the end, it will be probably be Jericho that arrives to take back what is his from CM Punk. But the fact that there appears to be no mystery right now is causing some people to create scenarios in their head. Kind of like I am doing right now.

CHRISTIAN RETURNING TO BE BURIED AGAIN
It has been a while since we have seen Christian on television—he has been out since November with an ankle injury—but he is going to be back in a few weeks. His return can't come soon enough because WWE needs all the depth it can find right now.
Question on Everybody's Mind: Who should Christian feud with upon returning?
Our Take: Assuming he comes back as a face, I would like to see him work a program with Cody Rhodes. He will help make him better in the ring, and he can elevate him to a higher position after he finishes his feud with Booker T.
Hype Meter: 4 out of 5 Underrated Performers
The IWC loves Christian and thinks that he deserves better than he gets from WWE. But even if he never gets a real title run, he is still one of the best workers in the company, and his absence has been noticeable over the last few weeks.

JIM ROSS' LOVE OF DANIEL BRYAN WILL FORCE WWE TO BURY HIM
Daniel Bryan is the new flavor of the week in WWE. He won the World Heavyweight Championship at TLC, won the main event tag team match on Raw and has a staunch supporter in Jim Ross. That means Vince McMahon will have to bury him.
Question on Everybody's Mind: Can WWE afford to bury Bryan right now?
Our Take: We all know that what WWE should do and what WWE does do are almost always two different things. I am starting to get cautiously optimistic that McMahon is going to do right by Bryan, but I am waiting for the other shoe to drop with this thing.
Hype Meter: 5 out of 5 Long Overdue Pushes
Anyone who regularly reads my stuff knows that I have been a Bryan advocate for a long time. If you have seen his work in Ring of Honor, it is easy to understand why. WWE dropped the ball with him when he first arrived, but now he is getting a chance to showcase his abilities.

BATTLE OF THE GIANTS AT WRESTLEMANIA 28?
There was some Internet fan chatter earlier this year about Shaquille O'Neal possibly working a match at WrestleMania after WWE teased a possible match with Big Show. Apparently there is something to that, because he said during a recent radio interview that he is talking to the company about it.
Question on Everybody's Mind: Can Shaq wrestle?
Our Take: Does it matter? He is nothing if not an entertainer. He loves wrestling, and will make sure that a match with Big Show is fun. It won't be a great technical battle, but it doesn't have to be. Give them seven minutes to out-giant each other and it will be fine.
Hype Meter: 5 out of 5 Celebrity Cameos
Considering how well Shaq did for himself when he hosted Raw in 2009, I wouldn't mind seeing him do something with Big Show on the biggest show of the year. It's something a little different, and will be an entertaining spectacle.
