Samford vs. Kentucky: TV Schedule, Live Stream, Spread Info and More

Brian MaziqueDec 20, 2011

The third-ranked Kentucky Wildcats are hosting the Samford Bulldogs in what should be a beat-down of epic proportions. The Wildcats will likely be without Terrance Jones, who has a badly dislocated pinky finger

It is unlikely the Wildcats will need him in this one though. The Wildcats look to extend the nation's longest home win streak to 41 games.

Where: Rupp Arena, Lexington, KY

Key Injuries:

Kentucky: Terrance Jones (Dislocated Finger) Likely out

Samford: None

What's At Stake:

Nothing more than a tune-up for Kentucky, as this is a planned cupcake on the schedule. The win streak should be safe tonight. For Samford, a win at Kentucky would be nearly as big as earning a NCAA tournament berth. Well, neither of those are going to happen for the Bulldogs this year.

What They're Saying:

When Kentucky head coach John Calipari was questioned about the status of Terrance Jones' finger, he told a reporter the following:

"

"I don't know (his status)," He's still swollen and black and blue. The doctor said he thought he may be able to practice today, but he looked at and said, 'I'd keep him out another day.'"

Kentucky Player To Watch: Anthony Davis

Davis has been as advertised in his freshman year. The 6'10" freshman is averaging 12 points, 10 rebounds and 4.4 blocks per game. He is also coming off a monster performance with 14 points, 18 rebounds and five blocks against Chattanooga.

Samford Player To Watch: Drew Windler

Windler is a 6'9" sophomore forward/center, averaging 12 points per game. He is also coming off a solid performance with 23 points against Spring Hill.

Key Matchup:

Windler will find it difficult to keep up his productivity against Anthony Davis and the rest of the Kentucky front line. Windler's recent success has come against Division II teams. Kentucky's front line will certainly provide a bigger challenge.

Prediction:

Kentucky should smash the Bulldogs. The rise in competition coupled with playing the Wildcats at home will be too much for Samford.

Kentucky 98, Samford 55
