LSU vs. Alabama Rematch: 5 Things You'll Hate About This Game

Randy ChambersDec 19, 2011

The Alabama Crimson Tide and LSU Tigers will have a rematch in the BCS National Championship Game on Jan 9.

And that doesn't sit well with most of the college football world.

Alabama and LSU played earlier this season in what was a boring game that resulted in a 9-6 victory for LSU in overtime.  No touchdowns were scored and, overall, it was a very sloppy game.

Everybody has many reasons why they don't like these two teams in the national championship.

Here are five things you'll hate about it.

Nick Saban

Saban is a fantastic football coach, but he's also hated by nearly everybody that isn't an Alabama fan.  I'm sure even some Crimson Tide fans can't stand the guy either, but love the results he helps provide, so they keep that opinion quiet.

Saban has been known to run away from a challenge; he's jumped from team to team and made up horrible excuses for leaving each job.

The only reason he hasn't jumped ship this time is because the top recruits choose Alabama and it makes his job a lot easier.

Unless you're an Alabama fan, you're going to hate seeing this guy roaming the sidelines.

Run, run and run some more

You know you're not going to get a lot of scoring out of this game, and you're likely not going to see many flashy plays in the air either.

Both of these teams love to run the football and don't really trust their quarterbacks enough to win the game for them.

This may be the quickest national championship in recent memory; the clock will eat up as both teams stick to the ground game.

Boring much?

Wouldn't solve the national championship if Alabama wins

LSU is undefeated and has already beaten Alabama earlier this season.  Let's say the Crimson Tide win this game.  Will they really be the national champion?

Of course, under the BCS format they would be.  But why does the Crimson Tide's win in this game mean more than the Tigers' victory earlier in the season?

I believe that Alabama does deserve to be in this game, but if they win, these two teams should play again to determine the real national champion.

Boy, we need a playoff.

Little scoring once again

Fans nowadays love high-scoring games and want to see an offensive explosion.  You won't see that in this game.

I'm not saying it will be another touchdown-less game again, but don't expect an Oregon vs. Wisconsin type score.  These teams have had a month to prepare for each other and find out what they can do better.

But the defenses are still loaded with NFL talent and ranked in the top 10 in every major statistical category.

This is a battle between the defenses and fans don't like that.

SEC team will win regardless

Let's be honest, college football world.  The No.1 reason you're making excuses for why Alabama doesn't deserve a shot in this game is not because you don't believe they're the second best team, but because you just don't want to see an SEC team win the championship again.

This will be the sixth straight year a team from the SEC has been declared champion.

The good thing for the SEC is it doesn't matter who wins.
