LeBron James Video: Watch the King Throw Down an Alley-Oop off Backboard
Mario Chalmers and LeBron James pulled off an awesome play that Heat fans are hoping they see a lot more of this season.
They got a little flashy last night after Chalmers stripped the Orlando Magic’s Jason Richardson.
After the SG tried to pull off some crazy jumper with the shot clock winding down, Chalmers stole the ball and started flying down the court.
He blew past Earl Clark on the dribble and was off to the races with only LeBron tailing behind and to his right.
The Heat’s young PG saw the King out of the corner of his eye and slowed down as he neared the basket.
Then he lofted a perfect, off-the-glass alley-oop in the direction of a leaping James, who flushed it down with authority in front of a delighted home crowd.
James has got to be happy that the Miami brass locked up the fourth-year point guard for at least two more years at a very affordable $4 million per season. They also have a team option on the former Kansas star for a third year at the same price.
Chalmers is slated to be the starting point guard this year after they said good riddance to Mike Bibby and his awful production.
The Heat are hoping that he continues to improve his all-around game and comes up clutch like he did in college.
They also won’t complain if he keeps making their best players happy by feeding them easy, exciting dunks like this one.
LeBron is most likely going to have another MVP type season and having a point guard take some of the pressure off him to facilitate will certainly aid his campaign.
Expect a lot more of these oops over the 66-game regular season.
