Gonzalez gets about 950 yards per season and he is on pace to get 944 yards this season.
In 2011, only Rob Gronkowski and Jimmy Graham are out-performing Tony Gonzalez, and that is not the biggest reason to re-sign the future Hall of Famer.
His records and unbelievable accomplishments are still not the reason he should be brought back another year.
Tony Gonzalez is a legend among the players. They look up to him and respect him. He is like a coach on the team and his reputation goes unquestioned.
All of the other Falcons receivers need Tony Gonzalez. He is solid, steady and reliable.
The Atlanta Falcons should re-sign Tony Gonzalez because he makes those around him better.
If the Falcons win the Super Bowl, I can see him retiring and no one would blame him. Otherwise, I think he would return if given the opportunity.
The Atlanta Falcons would be nuts to miss this opportunity.
