WWE TLC 2011: Most Memorable Moments from PPV
A fairly entertaining pay-per-view went over without an appearance from the newly re-masked Kane or John Cena.
Titles did change hands in the following matches:
- Zach Ryder took the US Title from Dolph Ziggler
- Big Show won the World Heavyweight Title from Mark Henry, but...
Other match results were as follows:
- Cody Rhodes defeated Booker T to retain the Intercontinental Title
- Air Boom (Kofi Kingston & Evan Bourne) defeated Primo & Epico to retain the Tag Team Titles
- Randy Orton defeated Wade Barrett
- Sheamus defeated Jack Swagger
- Triple H defeated Kevin Nash
The following moments were the most memorable of the night.
Funniest Moment: Yeah Boy!!!
1 of 7Booker T has the funniest facial expressions in the business. In this clip from TLC 2011, he adds in a hilarious sound byte.
After the first of two sneak attacks from Cody Rhodes, Booker T is fired up, and he lets us know about it.
Geriatric Moment of the Night: Old Man Nash
2 of 7This should truly be the last time we see Kevin Nash in a wrestling ring without a microphone. He and Triple H put on the slowest paced, most boring match of the night.
It felt like my teeth were itching waiting for one of their old seasoned carcasses to climb that ladder, get the sledgehammer, and put us all out of our misery.
Need any proof? Watch Kevin Nash's AARP moment on this reversal.
Most Athletic Moment of the Night: Kofi's Counter
3 of 7No matter how many times I see this maneuver and all of the freakish things Kofi Kingston can do in a wrestling ring, I'm still impressed.
Kofi's monkey flip counter was executed perfectly, as he was the clear star of the Tag Team title match. Isn't it time for a Kofi WWE title push?
No He Didn't Moment of the Night: Triple H Figure 4 in the What?!?
4 of 7The match was slow paced, and boring as all get out, but when Triple H set Kevin Nash up with this sinister variation of the classic submission hold, it did get my attention.
Still, this move was like finding a diamond ring in a sewer line. You had to wade through a lot of crap to find the jewel.
Best Win Reaction of the Night: Randy Orton's Sinister Smile
5 of 7The Viper struck in awesome fashion. I was legitimately surprised Wade Barrett didn't win this match.
When Orton caught Barrett off the top rope with the RKO through the table, his reaction as he sat on the mat was priceless, and vintage Orton.
Holy Crap Moment of the Night: Alberto Del Rio Lands the Nasty Kick on CM Punk
6 of 7He didn't win the match, but ADR made me take back some of what I said about him not being able to keep up with CM Punk and The Miz.
This ill-kick to the face of CM Punk that sent him through the table was the highlight of a slightly disappointing main event.
It drew the famous chant from the Baltimore crowd.
Most Impacting Moment of the Night: Daniel Bryan Cashes in
7 of 7After the Big Show defeated Mark Henry for the World Heavyweight championship, he was attacked by The World's Strongest Man, and DDT'd on a steel chair.
As Big Show lay unconscious, Daniel Bryan came charging to the ring with a referee, to redeem his Money in the Bank suitcase.
He hooked the leg of the newly crowned champion, and just like that, he became the newest champion.
Pretty cheap way to get Bryan over, but it was by far the most impacting moment from TLC 2011.
