WWE TLC 2011 Results: Zack Ryder Vaults to New Level with Win over Ziggler

It was business as usual for Zack Ryder at the WWE Tables, Ladders and Chairs PPV on Sunday night.

Ryder had already defeated Dolph Ziggler multiple times on WWE Raw and finally was able to clinch his first singles championship in the WWE with an ultra impressive victory.

Like most of their matches, things started off pretty evenly. Plenty of close pin-falls and a top rope action that included a hurricarana by Ryder. A few knees to the face of Ziggler really roughed him up and it turned into the beginning of the end for the match. A beat up Ziggler fell victim to a Rough Ryder and it was all but over.

The rise of Ryder reminds me of old superstars of the sport such as Bret "The Hitman" Hart and Shawn Michaels.Slowly but surely they worked their way into the limelight to the point of becoming a bona fide star.

Ryder has used the Internet to slowly but surely build a very dedicated fan base that is surely going to be much more crowded now that he has won the title. Thanks to the power of YouTube and Twitter, he has a fan base that is very hardcore. They chanted his name while The Rock was babbling about his return during Survivor Series.

I'd guess that a causal WWE fan that rarely watches the sport still can't pick Ryder out of a lineup, but everything is beginning to change.

Who knows how long Ryder will hold the title, but it's safe to say that the popularity of the new champ is increasing by the day.

Step aside CM Punk, we have a new superstar that is about to take over the wrestling world.
