Mesut Ozil: Top 5 Real Madrid and Germany Goals

Known for his great number of assists, this German's goals have not been many, but have nevertheless been wonders to watch as a spectator.

As of Sunday, the winter break arrived in Spain. Los Blancos ended 2011 with a 2-6 blast against Andalusians Sevilla. It was Pichichi record-breaker Cristiano Ronaldo who scored the hat trick with one apiece from Jose Callejon, Angel di Maria and Hamit Altintop.

Madrid's No. 10 has scored a total of seven goals for the La Liga outfit and eight for his national team. An important member of any team he seems to play for, it was Ozil's wonderful performances in the World Cup and Bundesliga with Werder Bremen that caught Real Madrid's attention.

With Ozil halfway through his second season in Madrid, we will look back at his top 5 goals for Los Merengues and his national team.

Vs. Ghana

This was back in the summer of 2010 in South Africa. It was the only goal of the match and saw Germany gain three points in the group stage.

Vs. Belgium

Mesut's powerful shot hit the back of the net after his compatriot failed to get his shot through the defenders.  

Vs. Atletico

Wow.

A free kick taken from the edge of the box saw the shot head right into the net, skipping over everyone in the way.

Vs. Turkey

Boom!

Right into the net, right past the 'keeper after a solo run.

Vs. Levante

Right around the goalkeeper and right into the net. His tricky skills definitely came in handy for this lovely goal!
