Manchester City vs Arsenal: Blues Reassert Spot as EPL Bullies

The Blues were temporarily knocked out of that top spot earlier when Manchester United defeated Queens Park Rangers 2-0.

The Blues had been holding onto first place and rolling. From Oct. 1 to Dec. 7, they lost just one match. They then fell to Chelsea 2-1 on Dec. 12 to leave themselves open to Manchester United usurping their spot, and that is exactly what the Red Devils did.
However, Manchester City proved they would not allow that loss to turn into a slump and that they would not be out of first place long.
Defeat of Gunners
City came out determined to show they were not about to set a new trend of losing. They were the dominant team throughout this game, and it was not as close as the score indicated.
This was far from their best effort of the season, but it was a workmanlike and steady showing. This team has proven they don't have to be amazing to be dominant. They just have to be solid.
Kings of the EPL
The gap between City and United is razor-thin in the standings. However, City has proven they are the superior team as this season goes on.
The Red Devils got off to a phenomenally hot start, but they have slowed since. Meanwhile, the Blues just keep getting better and better as the campaign rolls on.
