NFL Picks Week 15: New England Patriots Will Take Down Tim Tebow and Broncos

Luis BatlleDec 18, 2011

Denver Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow and the streaking Denver Broncos host the New England Patriots in what has the potential to be one of the more entertaining Week 15 contests.

Yet, despite the plethora of wins and impressive fourth-quarter comebacks Tebow and the Broncos have put together, the Patriots are expected to come out on top. The game should be a thriller at Mile High.

For one, the experience factor will play well into the hands of Tom Brady and his Patriots.

Tom Brady is a three-time Super Bowl winner who knows a thing or two about overcoming adversity. Out-smarting the Denver defense is a challenge the top-notch quarterback has to be ready to face.

Brady has picked up the play as of late, throwing for over 300 yards in four of his last six games. Not to mention he has thrown for at least two touchdowns in each of the last eight games. In his last three games, Brady has twice thrown for three TDs.

The other factor will be coaching, as Bill Belichick's coaching will be in full force Sunday. That's in preparation for one of the more clutch quarterbacks the league has in Tebow.

In a game against the Miami Dolphins in 2008—where the Dolphins ran the wildcat offense to perfection in a win over the Patriots—Belichick was embarrassed and had to hit the film. The 38-13 loss to the Dolphins was a tough one for the team to swallow.

Sure enough, in the following meeting with the Dolphins that season, the Patriots beat them 48-28. Belichick and the team had hit the film, and he was able to put together a game plan to take down the wildcat offense.

Against the Denver Broncos, the Patriots will face the same sort of run-first offense. Although not technically considered a wildcat offense, it is particular style of play that Belichick has undoubtedly taken the time to study.

With a streaking Tom Brady and head coach Belichick leading the way, expect the Patriots to get the job done against Tim Tebow—despite his impressive success late in games this season.
