Week 15 NFL Picks: Closest Games That Will Have Fans Biting Their Nails

Ryan RudnanskyDec 18, 2011

Every week of the NFL season, we have been treated to a riveting, back-and-forth, see-saw of a battle, with one play here and there ultimately deciding the outcome of some games.

In Week 15, we are sure to be treated to some more drama.

Here are the three closest games of Week 15.

3. Carolina Panthers at Houston Texans

The Houston Texans have lost a little bit of offense since starting quarterback Matt Schaub went down to injury.

They have won their last seven games, but their last three games have been nail-biters, beating the Cincinnati Bengals by one point in Week 14.

The Texans' defense is holding the team up at this point, but the Panthers, led by quarterback Cam Newton, can put some points on the board, averaging 24.1 points this season.

The Panthers' defense, however, is awful, and I expect the Texans to score enough behind quarterback T.J. Yates and running back Arian Foster to come out with the victory.

2. New York Jets at Philadelphia Eagles

The Philadelphia Eagles have been a major disappointment this season, but they did just blow out the Miami Dolphins in Week 14 and quarterback Michael Vick is back.

The Jets are coming off a thrashing of the Kansas City Chiefs, but, then again, that's not exactly saying much. There are still concerns surrounding Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez.

Will this be the week that the Eagles secondary lives up to its talent?

Probably not, as the Eagles will suffer their ninth loss of the season.

1. Pittsburgh Steelers at San Francisco 49ers

Both of these teams aren't elite offenses this year, and both have dominant defenses, ranked first and second in points allowed per game.

This could be a slugfest, with both running games trying to find holes and each team's passing attack being limited.

In the end, Ben Roethlisberger is better than Alex Smith, and I think that is what it will come down to.
